My journey in school photography started 10 years ago when I received my daughter’s JK photos. I can tell you that I was not overly impressed.

If you are reading this, chances are you know exactly what I’m talking about. One does not have to be a professional photographer to realize when something feels rushed, staged, stiff, and just plain awkward.

Right then and there, I vowed to make better school photography available to as many schools and families as possible.

A note to Parents

I want you to be proud to display your child’s adorable little face, and not hide them in the junk drawer in your kitchen.  During my school day sessions, I try my best to make your child laugh, smile, and act a little silly. If they are nervous, I gently coax their little personality out of hiding. I never pressure them to do anything they don’t want to do. My goal is to capture honest and natural expressions against a stunning natural backdrop.

A note to SChools

Does the mention of School Photo Day give you hives? Send a chill down your spine? Well, I am here to help you through. My automated system takes most of the work right off your busy plate. There are no forms or money to collect. Parent communications are sent directly by and to me, practically eliminating you from the administrative process. Staff and class photos are always included, and each child receives a complimentary copy of their class photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does it cost?

There is no charge for me to come and photograph at your school. Once families receive their private online gallery, parents can choose to purchase from my menu of curated collections or individual products. There is no advance or minimum purchase required; I offer competitive rates for my beautiful professional prints.

2. How long does it take to photograph an entire school?

While every school is different, a typical-sized class should take about 30 minutes to photograph. Younger children often require a little extra time for both individual and group photos. Please reach out, and we can discuss your school's unique requirements.

3. What makes your services different?

I am not the cliché school photo provider that families have grown tired of. I create images that parents love to collect, display, and share as their children grow through the years. I schedule more time to photograph and get to know each child, which creates a more relaxed environment and genuine, happy expressions. We use nature as a backdrop or, when necessary, modern, simple backdrops.

4. where do you take the Photos?

My first choice is always to photograph outdoors in a natural setting with natural light. I do, however, recognize that this is not always an option and there may be a chance that we have to photograph indoors where a lighting setup and studio backdrop will be used. When I photograph outdoors, I use natural light and select the best spot on the school property to create dynamic images.  Our set must be quiet and free from regular interruptions.

5. Do you offer sibling photos?

YES! Siblings who are registered at the same school will have the opportunity for some siblings photos. The images will be placed in your family’s gallery along with the individual photos.

6. Do you take Staff and class photos?

Yes! Both staff and class photos are an important part of school memories. Your school can select from either a traditional class group portrait or a composite class photo. Every child will receive one 5″x7″ printed class photo, regardless of whether the family has placed an order or not. Staff will also receive complimentary digital headshots.

7. do you take graduation photos?

Yes! However, graduation portraits are typically offered separately from regular school picture day, closer to the end of the school year. Caps and gowns must be provided by the school and should be steamed and hung before photo day.

8. How and when do families receive their print orders?

When a family submits their order, they can select either “deliver to school” or “ship directly to home”. When school delivery is selected, individual families will not incur shipping fees. Their order will be delivered to the school approximately 3 weeks after their order has been placed. If they choose to have their order shipped directly to their home, they will be charged a flat rate shipping fee and will receive their order within 5-7 business days.
